The Soil Food Web is a great resource that we use on farm to help us keep track of how well we are doing with our soil nutrition. We use both Compost and Compost teas to help us boost the microflora of the soil. According to the soil tests we are moving forward, which means a more balanced soil that doesn't need as many inputs, and healthier mineral and water cycles. More carbon being sequestered and turned into humus... A soil that is microbiologically balanced is a boon to the world! ...Not only that, I reckon it makes things taste better too.

It is great to see that finally the connection between enlived and nutritious soil and food is being made. With this information, consumers can begin to understand why it is important to source biologically, organically or biodynamically grown produce. These natural growing methods advocate feeding the soil with once living animal and plant materials to maintain the growing life cycles of which humans are such an intricate part. From the soil we come, and back to the soil we go.
