Hi,
I completely agree that there has to be more than a bandaid. We need to heal the body so that we can life a life full of rich, wonderful foods that nature provides; and NOT out of a bottle.
I and my son had major food intolerance symptoms and as a result I started a blog http://www.thenewsonfood.com which talks about food intolerance.

Love the work here and it is great that we can spread the word to the world that we do not have to live by a restricted diet for our entire lives.

Thanks, Eileen.

Have developed severe rash all over the body - hands and feets extremely itcy - diagnosed to be nickle related. Need to know what foods have nickle. Lots of conflicting information on the net.

These are exactly the questions I have asked since dealing with my son's food intolerances: how do we heal the problem and overcome that deficiency? Although Sue's work was the catalyst for my discovery of my son's problems, my 'gut feeling' (if you'll pardon the pun) was that being failsafe was like putting a 'bandaid' on a festering impetigo wound. bandaids are extremely good! Sue's work is vital, and should be more widely used by lactation consultants and maternal and child health nurses etc. etc. but i wanted to stop causing the wounds, and we have to a great extent (through combining failsafe as well as nourishing traditions and mindd perspective and my own investigations) and this is where we have now headed with our problems, adhering to nourishing traditions and utilising what is relevant from failsafe. in a way, i see that what i am doing with my son (and with my next child hopefully next year) is participate in the body of research as it continues. i feel like i am at the forefront of this reserach. and there are many like me who are doing the same thing.

My family and i have been using Sue Dengates books and website for about 6 years. I believe it is the most important resource for information about food additives. While i have never agreed with her recommendations for non food items like margarine and soydrinks, my family has benefitted greatly from being able to educate ourselves about additives that are everywhere even in some organic packaged food. Before i had this info my child was very naughty and had sleep issues, now she is almost a perfect angel! It is so important to avoid them as much as possible as most have never even been tested, especially in regards to the effects on childrens behaviour. I find a combination of Sue Dengate and Sally Fallon have served my family well over the last 6 years and i guess the important thing is to keep an open mind ( and heart ) and take the information from these two great sources that resonates most with you, and try it, see if it helps you and your family.
