Hey everyone, im destiny 17 year old. I found out i had UC Febuary 2010 when i was sixteen. I did a colonoscopy and had to swallow the camera, i did the liquid diets, feeding tubes, sulfasalazine ( worked for only a few months ), prednisone ( off and on since febuary 2010 ), remicade ( allergic ), humira injections (not working). I take around 9 pills everyday. 9am 1pm 5pm & 9pm . I hardly get any sleep i have been hospitalized 5 times since febuary 2010. And currently in a flare up. I never completly came out of my flare up, i get two to three blood transfusions a month. ( which is really bad ) since donated blood has such a high iron level im at risk for too much iron going into my body. I am currently animic and have been. I have dierriah everyday i go to the restroom on good days 5 to 7 times and at night it gets worst i wake up almost every hour to use the restroom i hardly get any sleep. I continue to bleed, the next step for me doctors say is surgery since my UC is so aggresive and since i am taking 1 to 3 pain killers a day just to stop from crying or just to sleep, surgery is the last resort and theres no use talking to me about it i will always refuse to do it. I need a second opinion or ealse i dont know what could happen , they say i can get a hole in my colon. E-mail me @ deesttiny@aol.com

Why do you want to remove your post? It was uplifting for me as I was just diagnosed with this. Your post gave me hope. Besides, the website owner doesn't have to remove your post. You posted it. It's not like he has an obligation to remove it. Anyway, relax, your posting was uplifting.

HI all,

Roger I feel for you as I read your story. I have had Ulcerative Colitis for 25 years and for the last 5 years have found wellness in a nutritional healing program. I also have the book Nourishing Traditions and follow its basic guidelines but I cannot tolerate grains, red meat or dairy. Kathryn Alexander, the wonderful nutritional healer from Queensland wrote a powerful book which together with NT form the basis of my program. I too was where you were, lost two marriages, careers, friends, etc and was hospitalised many times and got sicker on drugs. Kathryn's book, which is on the internet when you google her name and the title Get A Life, explains the biochemistry of a healing program and why it works. THis was my framework. I also used a modified Gerson Therapy for chronic illness, pioneered by Doctor Max Gerson (you can google it) and managed by Kathryn, who is an Australian expert on this complicated therapy. For nearly six years now I make three fresh vegetable juices a day, eat organic food that is fresh and live. Thus I eat food that maximises my nutrition, heals the body and gives me energy. I started it after leaving hospital ten kilos lighter from toxic megacolon in 2004. After all these years I can now exercise, live a reasonaly normal life, have reduced drugs considerably and have energy for the first time. After so long feeling I was washed up this is so wonderful! It took me 4 years, totally worth the dedication and commitment. I am studying, parenting two young boys effectively, and performing a bit with music and acting, something I would not have done a few years ago. THere is an answer to it, but it needs commitment and patience. Keep positive but you must take action on diet and health. These things do make a difference.

My name is Roger. In a brief way i have Ulcerative chron's colitis(both ulcerative colitis and chron's disease) since the age of 16. Back those days i never cared, no one would. Now i am reading Nathan's story and thinking this is the help i need. first well done Nathan for being a winner, i totally understand what you have been through in every second of your life especially at the time of flare-up.

i have been on high dosage of cortisone (50mg/day) for the last 2 months, with salfolak, folic acid, vitamins and 2 other names i will not mention that nathan will def knows about it. With regret, this time i am not getting better and each time i try and drop the cortisone level below 30mg/day the symptoms re-occur within 3 or 4 hours. within myself i know it is not a good sign but i am keeping positive.

The treatment is almost killing me in all means, and i am taking Nathans story up from tomorrow.

it makes more sick when i feel tired all the time, loosing weight, being on chemical treatment, depression, and not being normal human being in nature.

i am living with it since 14 years now, i am 31 yeard old and this is the first time in my life that i am unable to recover from the current flare-up or remission. (i know the older i get the harder is) but i am still YOUNG AND IT IS KILLING ME. I have been told since i was 16 years old(it started very strong to the point i couldnt walk in my feet anymore) that very likely the older i get it will develop to cancer!!! i had to live with it (what an idiot specialist but honest!!)

None of the cortico-steroids is making me better now even after almost 3 months and high dosage, combined with the latest medicine from the united states.

saying this, my conclusion confirms and proves Nathan's theory " SPECIAL DIET" is the cure.
the type of food we eat is processed in the stomach, Ulcerative Colitis lives in our stomach,so by stopping it from getting its nutrients, it will never flare up again.

anyway, to anyone who suffers from Ulcerative Colitis, please never gave up, keep positive and enjoy your life. we all know it is not as easy as people think, we all know that it can destroy us physically and mentally even socially(i never told my work about it and some friends, it did affect my relationship with the love of my life for us to break up because of its symptoms) , and please take it serious as much as you can, because i did not and now i regret it.

My last remedy that i am going to try is "DIET" which i strongly believe in now...
Cheers
Roger

Hello,

My name is Zakia Maylor and I am desperately writing my story for some relief and possible cure for UC as well. I wanted to hard to try this program and cooked the soup for 24 hours and tried about a half of cup only to find out that it was too greasy. Did I do something wrong. My stomach can not handle all this grease due to a H. Pylori which is the cause of my stomach ulcer. Do I need to deal with this first before trying the program. I really did not want because the meds for this illness is antibiotics and acid suppressor which I have learned makes Ulcerative Colitis worse. I have been on the SCD diet for five months know with no relief. Please help!!!!!!
