I grew up drinking raw milk - it's the only milk I can tolerate. When it wasn't available for awhile, I had to cut out all dairy to stay healthy. If you are having trouble digesting the raw milk, it could be that your body needs to heal some before it can handle it. You could try staying away from any pasteurized dairy, and all refined sugars. See if you see a difference in a few weeks. Heck, you might feel better in a few days. My husband was completely lactose intolerant until he tried raw milk - but he didn't try to do the "milk cure" - he just tried a little at a time to see if he could handle it. Over time, he was able to drink more and more raw milk with no problem, which made him very happy because he loves the taste. Good luck and be well!

To solve the lactose intolerance questions, try KEFIR, it is a fermented milk product, make it with real keifr grains and fresh raw milk. Kefir has only a trace of lactose left after the fermentation process, it has even more beneficial enzymes and b-vitamins, than the original sweet milk. The taste is somewhat tart, and it is a very thick drink, like homemade yogurt.
I tired the milk diet with raw milk alone and could not digest it - I tried up to 8 qts /day - no elimination at all. I quit - I was hugely bloated, although I did have a lot more energy post diet (10 days of milk)
I am on day 10 of a raw kefir diet now and am happy to report: no bloating, no tummy aches, in fact my tummy is firmer and slimmer now, I'm feeling pretty good, although I have not had much bed rest (5 kids yk). Not hungry at all, just starting to miss the taste and chewiness of food. I blogged about the first diet and will update soon about the kefir diet shortly http://www.themilkdiet.blogspot.com/
Health to you!

Hi Tiffany

I can definitely sympathize with you regarding milk intolerance. I too like eating dairy produce but unfortunately dairy does not seem to like me! I remember reading an article from an alternative health practitioner who writes that people with amalgam fillings in their teeth are often intolerant to dairy. I plan to have my fillings removed in the coming months and very much hope to see gradual improvements in my overall health and in what I can eat (which is currently very limited).

I have also located a farmers' market in London where they sell raw water buffalo milk, and I will be purchasing my first batch today. Hopefully it will prove to be more digestible than the milk I have drunk in the past. I will experiment by consuming it in a variety of ways: fresh from the bottle; boiled with spices and drunk warm as recommended in Ayurveda; made into yoghurt; made into panir. As per Joanne's suggestion, I am also seeking a supplier of raw goat milk and am keen to experiment with that as well.

If the water buffalo milk does not agree with me this time around, I will give it another go after my fillings have been removed. Perhaps I will always be intolerant to milk, but I hope to see some changes soon. I hope you do too.

With best wishes

I'd try raw goats milk, since you are in Greece. It is less allergic. To heal his over sensitive immune system, however, follow the traditional diet ways, especially focussing on digestion. Perhaps he will be able to eat raw dairy again once his body is stronger. This month's edition of Nourished Magazine has articles about healing the digestion. Check it out.

You know, I would have to agree with you about the real story around real fresh milk! I was raised on a farm in out back N.S.W. Australia & only drank raw fresh milk, we hardly ever were sick. Now a day I never drink milk! I am now 48 yrs old. I eat yogurt by the tub full. My husband says he has a lactose problem & cannot drink milk, what is the solution here? I have read somewhere that there is a supplement enzyme in tablet form that we are able to take to overcome this prob. True?
I must admit that he has hypertension, overweight, thyroid probs, kidney stones, gall stones & who knows what next!! How is it possible for me to get him on the milk diet therapy? We are permanent residents living in Greece. If you have the time maybe you could answer my question. Thanks

This is so interesting! To think that the reason for pasteurization is just a tool to make more money and not to keep people healthy. I wonder if people that have been born into a pasteurized society can come to accept that the system of government they currently live within isn't thinking about their well being and that they've been lied to all along by corporate interests.

Very interesting. I am doing a lot of private research on the use of collostrum and I believe that the milk as it is sold today is worth nothing. Selling 1% milk and adding calcium and vita D and other things to try to make us believe that they are improving the quality is a hoax and a detrimental way of selling a cheap very costly product. Milk as always been one of the best natural product available . I am still looking for people it has rendered sick...The pasteurisation of milk is another thing that should be changed...The heat generated by the process is affecting the stereochemistry of the protein molecule and erender it novaluable for proper feeding.

It is very unfortunate that milk, butter and eggs are always blamed for no other reasons tha pure greed. Lactose intolerance is a factor that is a totally different ball game. Let us go back to pure raw milk, bacteria free for sure but not through pasteurisation or Tyndallisation or any form of treatment that can change the quality of the proteins .That affects the quality of the aminoacids and lower the body resistance on the long run...and so mny other things that it would take me a full book to cover.
