		<description>Great article.  I suppose you know that all the above insanity and sickness was a part of the American Muscular Christian movement.  It was primarily aimed at stamping out masculinity, if you read the history.  So although you mention  misogyny, you neatly omitted the prime cause - misandry.  Open both eyes, and eat more corn flakes.  LOL.</description>

		<description>It seems to me that chronic constipation isn't necessarily always  caused by excessive consumption of fiber, which is what this author appears to be saying.   You can avoid all that stupid bran and still get constipation; some people are just born with weak intestinal function that may not have anything to do with diet.  There's all kinds of sickly folk out there, including an aunt of mine who did not add any fiber to her diet, but who got cancer of both the breast and large intestine, also.  She complained all her life of being constipated.</description>
