Hi Joanne
Where do you get raw butter in Sydney,Australia? Any contacts to join a group? This recipe is great but inability to find the basic ingredient really makes it impossible to try.

Pris, Soy oil is not food. It has never been used as food by the cultures who grew soy beans. It requires toxic hexanes and high temperatures, bleaching and deodorising to extract from the bean. Please read about the bastardisation of this humble bean in Sally Fallon's article, The Ploy of Soy. You will find which soy foods are traditional and which are Nourishing only to the bank balances of modern food manufacturers.
Butter is by far superior a food. It is actually a superfood. The link on the word butter, above in the ingredients list will tell you why butter is better. Here's the link again. This article will tell you some of the reasons butter is used in this recipe eg:
# Butyric Acid - protective agains colorectal cancers and various inflammatory bowel diseases, nourishes the cells of the small and large intestine.
# Short and Medium Chained Fatty Acids - have antimicrobial, antitumor and immune system supporting properies. These fats absorbed directly from the small intestine to the liver, where they can be used for quick. Quicker than sugar with no crash. Lauric Acid, one of these fats, can be also found in coconut oil and is very useful in dealing with candida.
# Trace Minerals - manganese, zinc, chromium and iodine - to prevent goiter.

This recipe feeds good bacteria. Butter is one of the most important ingredients for this function. It actually feeds you bowel flora.

Pris, prove it to yourself. Put some of the soy margarine out in the garden, put some butter beside it. Watch as all the local critters flock to the butter to eat it. I guarantee, they'll leave the margarine alone. Even mould won't grow on margarine. You'll ask yourself, "how would margarine feed my bowel bacteria, much less my body?"

I've been eating this butter mix for a few months and I have had great results with my body healing from Colitis. I have recovered within 3=4 months simply by eating great food, without any medication . I will continue to eat the butter mix as my body likes it so much, it is delicious and I'm feeling so good.

No Kate, you need to add the coconut in it's liquid form. BTW I've been told you don't need to keep coconut oil in the fridge unless your keeping it for years. The polyunsaturates are pretty stable because of the high levels of Vitamin E. Has anyone got any more information about this?

Joanne, will the coconut oil blend straight from the fridge or does it need to soften first?
