I’ve seen ads on TV for Caduet. It has two ingredients. One is Amlodipine and the other is Atorvastatin. With my RxDrugCard I can get 30 tablets of Amlodipine for $9 and 30 tablets of Simvastatin for $9. I’ll bet they are charging more than $18 for this new drug! The unthinking public is going to pressure their doctors into giving them something just because it’s new, when something old or generic would do the job for cheaper.

As a holistic nutritionist I am so happy to read your article. We live in a crazy world, don't we? People are so blinded by big business. I hope one day I wake up in a world where people's health comes first, but I fear it will never happen.

At least I can take care of my kids!

I'm amazed and so pleased to read this article. As a registered nurse, I've seen a lot of what you describe here. I'm also a naturopathic herbalist and as such know that nutrition and natural medicine is a more healthy option than pharmaceutical treatment. I do, however, acknowledge that in an emergency that hospital may be necessary.
I'm also a graduate gemmologist and have been studying and researching the mineralogical make up of crystals and correlating the healing effects of the two. The more I delve into minerals the more I'm amazed at what they can do for our health, and should we be deficient we become ill. Modern medicine often overlooks the deficiencies and treats with pharmaceutical medicines that don't treat the cause of the illness and often creates side effects.
Good on you Shane.
